Brief Description
Bristol Charities was founded by an Act of Parliament in 1835 to administer a range of 57 almshouses, educational and grant giving charities, formerly under the control of the Corporation of Bristol. The Oldest charity dates back to 1395. Today the organisation is focusing upon its activities for Bristol's older people, through the provision of day services and housing. Bristol Charities currently manages a residential/nursing home and six of the city's almshouses, providing accommodation for 120 people.

Access Restrictions
Individuals 50+ in need who have been resident in Bristol for a minimum of 2 years. Will NOT accept those who disrupt the peaceful occupation of other almshouse residents; those with an established history of violence/aggression; Schedule One offenders; those with current drug/alcohol problems.
