Brief Description: The Candle Community Centre is a Christian response to current social needs, problems, and potential of inner city Bristol. The service is organised and offered by The Bristol Citadel Corps of the Salvation Army. We have many volunteers helping us who attend other churches and Christian fellowships in and around Bristol. We offer service with the valuable help and support of many Christian friends and churches. It can be truly said the Candle Project is ecumenical! We try to meet immediate need! To build relationships and create trust! We try to develop a sense of community! We want to offer light to those walking in the darkness! Modern church poets remind us, "Great is the darkness that covers the earth, there's oppression, injustice and pain. There's hopeless despair, there's madness and lies!" Brief Description: The Wild Goose is run by Crisis Centre Ministries. Our aim is to provide for people who are the middle of a difficult and destructive situations (actively involved in addiction, homeless, etc) the opportunity to meet with folk who will be supportive and helpful. By providing food, a welcoming atmosphere and a listening ear we aim to build relationships which will provide a secure foundation for change.
